2018 Athletic HOF Class Inducted...On September 21st, the Class of 2018 was inducted into the Portville Central School Athletic Hall of Fame.

The inductees included Jamie Moses ('94), David Waugh(posthumously), Coach from 1994 to 2017, Inga (Wenke) Welty ('93), Ron McMahon, Coach from 1979-2001, Robert Kordish ('51), and Francis "Tony" Wilson ('43). (NOTE: Click on each inductees name to see their page from the program, which has more information.) PDF reader required.

The festivities started with a buffet for family and friends in the Fitness Center, followed by an unveiling of a plaque honoring Coach Waugh in the lobby of the facility. The plaque was unveiled by Dave's daughter Maggie.

Then, the group proceeded outside to watch Dave's son Ben unveil the sign on the side of the building, renaming the Fitness Center to the "David Waugh Fitness Center".

Due to weather conditions, the induction ceremony was held in the gym, before a good sized crowd.

The best moment of the evening came at the end of the ceremony when Portville Superintendent Tom Simon awarded inductee Francis "Tony" Wilson his High School diploma. Mr. Wilson, now 93 years young, left school at the age of 17 to serve his country in WWII.

All in all, a night that those who were present won't soon forget!
