Pairings set...Portville is seeded 8th in Class C-1 in this year's playoffs and will host a game on February 20th against Cattaraugus-Little Valley. Game time will be 7:00PM.

Panama wins...It was a good news / bad news kind of night for Portville Wednesday. The good news was Portville tied it's third highest offensive output of the season. The bad news was that we gave up the second highest points against in a 79-53 loss to visiting Panama.

Dalton Tobola and Jarett Mathes each scored 18 in the loss. Tobola hit 4 three pointers, and Mathes hit 6 treys.

Panaman had three players in double figures. Cameron Barmore scored 22, Mitchell Hovey had 21, and Jack Sperry scored 17 for the winners.

Portville finishes the regular season with a 5-15 record and will find out their first round opponent this Saturday. Stay tuned to this site, our Facebook page, or our Twitter feed for date, time and place of our next game.

Prior to tonight's game, five of our six Seniors were honored. They are:

Cameron Lott-Cameron is the son of Ron and Ronna Lott. He has played Panther Basketball for six years. He is a scholar-athlete who also played baseball and soccer, serving as captain of the latter this past fall. Besides athletics, he has also participated in band, Yearbook Club, and is current President of the Student Council. He plans to attend college to major in Adolescence Education and History with a possible focus on Pre Law.

Nathan Kloc-Nathan is the son of Chris and Cheryl Kloc. He has played basketball since he was a Sophmore, serving as a captain the past two seasons. He is a scholar-athlete who was awarded CCAA honorable mention all-star status last season and was named MVP of the A.C.E. Tournament in December. Nathan is also a member of the baseball and soccer programs, serving as captain in soccer this past fall. Nathan has participated in band, jazz band, and Physics Club. He is the current Vice President of the Student Council and Secretary of the National Honor Society. After graduation, Nathan plans to attend college to persue a degree in the field of biology.

Jarett Mathes-Jarett is the son of Amy and Jeff Mathes. He has played Portville basketball for six years, serving as a Captain his Junior and Senior years. He has earned scholor-athlete status and was named to the IAABO All-Tournament team. Besides basketball, Jarett has participated in Golf for five years. Outside of athletics, he is a member of the Physics Club, and the Portville chapter of the National Honor Society. In the future, Jarett plans to attend college and major in mathematics.

Arik Kavanaugh-Arik is the son of Nathaniel Rogers and Kristine Kavanaugh-Rogers. He is a scholar-athlete playing is first year of Panther basketball. He is also a member of the Soccer and Golf programs, band, the International and Physics Clubs, as well as the National Honor Society. He was class President his Sophmore and Junior years. Arik is a founding member of the Portville chapter of Chess Club and is the current President. Arik plans to attend college and major in engineering and minor in business.

Dalton Nuffer-Dalton is the son of Kristi and Anthony Sherlock, and Shane Kelly. He has played Panther basketball for six years and has been on Varsity the last two seasons. Besides basketball, Dalton has also played Panther baseball for three years. In the future, Dalton plans to attend college to study business.

Noah Pullins-Noah, who was unable to attend tonight's ceremony, is the son of Rodney and Yvonne Pullins. He has been part of the basketball program for six years, and has been a member of the Varsity for the last two seasons. Noah also played football and ran track and field since the 7th grade. He was a former member of the trap club. He attends BOCES on a daily basis and studies Early Childhood Development. His future plans are to attend Indiana University of Pennsylvania to study early childhood education in hopes of teaching Pre-K or Kindergarten.

Date set for Alumni Basketball...The fifth annual Portville Alumni basketball games are set to tip off at 6:00PM on Saturday, March 23rd, in the North Gym at PCS.

This year's game will be raising money for a local charity which will be decided upon at a later date.

The cost will be $15.00 per player.
